Everything here is good but hard.
Living in the bush is alot like living in the middle of another dimension, a dimension where you pee on a slab of concrete that is also the area that you "shower" in, (or take a bucket bath). A dimension where you poop in a hole in the ground but you have to greet the owners of the poop hole for ten minutes before you can use it, a dimension where you eat on the floor with your hands alongside Africans as their chickens try to steal the food and the goats are eating the fence next to you. Aside from bush living, which is very different, we feel like we are being sent out like "sheep among wolves." (Read Mthw 10).
I don't have alot of time to post very much, but just know that your yarps are encouraging me greatly, and that to hear what the King is doing in the states is encouraging me enough to go back to the bush for another two weeks. It is hard to see His fruit here, but to know that He is working for the good keeps me going. Please continue to yarp because I am affected by your yarps, and thank you all so much for your support.
I am looking at each day as an adventure, and I am excited to see what He has in store. Hopefully I can type out a more detailed update next time! Know that all is well here, we are all in good health and happy, and we are being stretched every second!

Oh Hailey! "Poop hole" sounds so much less inviting than the squatty potty" we read about in the project description. I'm so glad you're keeping it "real".
I read Matt. 10 this morning and saw the strong connection to Ps. 116 that you have claimed as your testimony, esp. 12-14 "How can I repay the [Master] for all his goodness to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the [Master]. I will fulfill my vows to the [Master] in the presence of his people." And then in Matt. 10:37-42 ending with the instructions to give a cup of [living] water in the Master's name.
Seeing how this all works together for your life is amazing!
I am so proud of you! I can't wait to hear more about your experiences. How was the desert trip on Thursday?
Again, my yarp of thanks is for the gift of joy, that beautiful bonus that exceeds all my expectations.
I love you, Mom
Hailey, I have just read the first paragraph of your post to Grandaddy and we LOVE hearing your sense of humor reaching out to all of us. You amaze me as you describe the conditions there and see past all of it to the Grace that sustains you. As I yarp for you I continually ask Him to give you exactly what you need for each minute, hour and day. I am so looking forward to getting to see you and hear all that you'll have to share with us when you come home. I have a picture of you tucked in my Bible at Ps. 121..which I yarp for you. I also claim Lam. 3:22-23 for you. I miss you and love you. Nanny
Hey Hailey!! I'm writing you from Aunt Laura and Uncle Jim's kitchen, we all just got finished reading your blog and the coffee is flowing steadily! It was so great getting to talk to you yesterday and reading about your trip now. Just remember that even when times get tough, you have the mighty King to keep helping and guiding you along. I'm so proud of you for following our Father's will and going to Niger, many people would never give up the time, effort and energy that you have in order to pour out love on these people like you are. You will be very blessed from this! I hope you had an awesome time in the sand dunes yesterday! It sounded like something you would love to be doing whether you were in Africa or Alexandria : ) I will definately continue yarping for you, and I love you very much!
P.S. When we were at your house the other night, my dad slept in your bed. I don't think Sabrina was very happy about that, so hopefully she won't be too traumatized when you get back ;)
Haha, oh, and my dad wants me to tell you to be sure and eat a bug for him. He wants to hear a good story about how you can be the next Survivor.
<3 Kaitlyn : )
Hi Hailey,
When I was in graduate school, I sat down for dinner with friends from Saudi Arabia and I too know how strange it must feel for you to eat with your right hand, etc. That experience stretched my understanding, most likely because it was so foreign to me. As an american and very well insulated from the rest of the world, I can only wonder that your experiences are offering you a grand and valuable perspective of this wonderful world we live in. Have fun and God Bless!!!!
Remember the red heifer! I love you! Mom

I know that you are all in his hands , his loving protecting , guiding hands. We miss you! Cindy S.
